My philosophy, in terms of classroom environment, is that establishing respect, integrity, and high standards at the beginning of the school year is crucial to later accountability. Not only do teachers benefit from having a clear set of expectations, but students are also challenged academically and behaviorally. Although I did have tight classroom procedures, I also incorporated dynamic and collaborative activities to create rapport with my kids and get them excited about learning.
Specific Ways I Have Implemented Domain 2

1. All class expectations were geared towards creating a positive, yet fair environment for students to learn and write. All expectations were fairly implemented.
2. Built strong relationships with parents by making frequent, positive phone calls home and interacting with parents at extra-curricular activities.
4. Organized desks to be able to aid students quickly.
5. Posted weekly agendas, objectives, and daily to-do lists for students (for my visual learners).
6. Greeted students by name each day at the door.
7. Integrated pop-culture into lessons
In the words of CJ Reynolds, my favorite urban teacher, "relationships are KING."
